And that\u2019s when something curious happens: the noise from the deck disappears in an instant. All you can hear is your own breathing. There\u2019s another island down there, and hardly anyone thinks of it when they book a trip.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We dropped anchor off the southern coast, where the seabed alternates between light-coloured sand and volcanic rock. It is this mixture that makes the view so striking: the sand reflects the light and the water takes on that turquoise hue which, from the deck, looks as though it has been retouched.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life is concentrated on the rock, because that is where there is shelter and food.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-fe48e5de wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div style=\"--wp--block-button--width: 75;\" class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill has-custom-width wp-block-button__width wp-block-button__width-75\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/magicandsailing.com\/en\/\" style=\"border-radius:0px;background-color:#c72a3d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ENTER AND DISCOVER THE EXPERIENCE OF SAILING WITH US IN FUERTEVENTURA<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br\/>The ones who are almost always hanging about<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>If you stand still for a minute, they start to appear. The salemas are usually the first to show up, swimming in shoals with those yellow stripes running along their bodies. The sea bream are more scattered, silvery in colour and with a dark patch near their tails. And then there\u2019s the Canarian wrasse, which is the one that catches everyone\u2019s eye because of its colour. The fulas, dark and small, dart amongst the rocks without straying too far. None of this is out of the ordinary, nor does it require any luck: this is the local wildlife, the species that live here all year round.     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br\/>And every now and then, a surprise<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>Other times, something unexpected turns up: a stingray gliding leisurely across the sandy seabed, a large school of fish swimming past, or \u2013 if you\u2019re really lucky \u2013 a turtle surfacing to breathe near the boat. That\u2019s not up to us, and that\u2019s why it\u2019s all the more enjoyable.
