We get this question almost every day via message: \u2018What should I bring on the trip?\u2019<\/p>\n\n

At the Morro Jable pier, we\u2019ve been saying the same thing for years: far less than you think. We see people coming up with bags full of food, parasols, folding chairs\u2026 and going back down with everything exactly as they brought it. That\u2019s why we wanted to write this: so you arrive at the pier with what really matters and leave the rest at the hotel. <\/p>\n\n

What you do need to pack in your rucksack<\/h2>\n\n

It\u2019s not a long list. Basically, a swimsuit, a towel and sun cream \u2013 which, oddly enough, is what most people forget because they take it for granted and get complacent. <\/p>\n\n

You really do need to be more careful than usual about sun protection: the Atlantic sun on deck is more intense than it looks, and the four hours out at sea fly by before you know it. If you\u2019re travelling with children or have sensitive skin, make sure you pack a long-sleeved top or T-shirt for the middle of the day. <\/p>\n\n

A microfibre towel is handy because it dries quickly and takes up little space, but any towel will do.<\/p>\n\n

Make sure your mobile is protected<\/h3>\n\n

A waterproof bag or cheap waterproof cover from any shop in the harbour. There\u2019ll be splashes, there\u2019ll be times in the water, and you\u2019ll want to take photos. A two-euro cover saves you a two-hundred-euro shock. <\/p>\n\n

Be sure to download your booking voucher before you leave, in case you don\u2019t have mobile coverage near the pier.<\/p>\n\n

Something with a zip for the return journey<\/h3>\n\n

Make sure you pack a light windbreaker, even if it\u2019s warm when you set off. On the way out, sailing with the sun on your face is pure pleasure. On the way back, as the boat heads for port, the Jand\u00eda breeze feels quite different. All you need is something that fits folded away in a pocket. <\/p>\n\n

As for footwear, opt for sandals with a heel strap or water trainers. Flip-flops don\u2019t work well on deck. <\/p>\n\n

Another question we\u2019re often asked is: should I bring my snorkel?<\/h2>\n\n

It depends on the boat you’ve booked, and it’s worth finding out before you set off.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re coming on the Magic Dreams<\/strong><\/a>: you don\u2019t need to bring anything. The Dreams provides a full set of snorkelling gear on board, plus paddleboards for the stop at the anchorage and for swimming. When the captain gives the go-ahead, all you have to do is jump in the water. <\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re travelling on the Magic Deluxe<\/a><\/strong>: a swim in the bay is included, but snorkelling equipment isn\u2019t provided on board. If you\u2019d like to explore underwater, please bring your own or pick some up at the port before boarding. <\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re unsure about what\u2019s included in your specific trip, please check your voucher or get in touch with us beforehand. That way, the day will run more smoothly for everyone. <\/p>\n\n

What about a rucksack with a snack or a meal?<\/h2>\n\n

There\u2019s no need to bring any food or drink. All outings<\/a> include a fully stocked open bar (prosecco, wine, beer, soft drinks) and a meal prepared by the chef from Jand\u00eda. You can leave your shopping bag in the car without opening it. <\/p>\n\n

One last thing: if you\u2019ve got a pair of compact binoculars at home, pop them in your bag. When pilot whales or bottlenose dolphins appear near the boat, seeing them up close really makes the experience special. They\u2019re light as a feather. <\/p>\n\n

And if you\u2019re worried about seasickness, do ask your pharmacist for advice before you set off. The waters off the south coast of Fuerteventura are usually calm, but everyone reacts differently, and it\u2019s not really our place to give that advice. <\/p>\n\n

Swimsuit, towel, sun cream, sturdy shoes and a protected mobile phone. We\u2019ll provide the rest. <\/p>\n\n

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, cap with fastening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

  • Please bring your own goggles and snorkel if you\u2019re joining any excursion other than Magic Dreams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Frequently asked questions from users<\/h2>\n\n

    Can I bring my own food and drink?<\/strong>Yes, if you\u2019d like to bring something extra along, that\u2019s no problem at all. <\/p>\n\n

    Is there always a toilet break?<\/strong>Yes, but it can be affected if sea conditions are not suitable. Safety comes first. <\/p>\n\n

    Can I use my snorkel?<\/strong>Yes, provided the skipper gives permission and it is outside wildlife areas and the boat is stationary.<\/p>\n\n
