There are days when the port beats differently. Nervous sails dawn, shouts of manoeuvres, hands working in unison… and the wind, which becomes both judge and companion. The 44CUP is that and more: an international circuit that brings together some of the world’s best sailors aboard RC44s, agile and highly technical sailboats where every decision counts. From land, it is impressive; from the sea, it is thrilling.

A setting to match: Marina Jandía, Morro Jable
It is no coincidence that Marina Jandía was chosen for the Grand Final. The south of Fuerteventura offers a privileged setting for sailing: clean waters, consistent breezes and volcanic landscapes that turn every tack into a postcard. Added to all this is the character of the fishing village, its gastronomy and the maritime atmosphere that permeates the pier.
How we experienced it on board (and why it gave us goose bumps)
We were fortunate enough to follow the regatta from the sea with our boats: the two Magic Dreams Lagoon 43s and the Magic Select catamaran. From the bow, in comfort and stability, we could feel the speed of the RC44s as they accelerated out of the wake, hear the murmur of the crew adjusting every detail and observe precision manoeuvres just a few metres away—always with respect for the competition and coordinated so as not to interfere.
- Closeness without intrusion: the best spot to watch, take photographs and let your emotions do the rest.
- Safety and calm: our teams kept track of times and distances to ensure a comfortable, elegant and authentic experience.
- That unique energy: the wind picks up, the sea ripples, a call from the bow… and the ship responds. Anyone who loves the ocean recognises that moment.
What the 44CUP leaves behind on the island
Beyond the spectacle, an event like this promotes water sports and highlights Fuerteventura’s potential as a sailing destination. On the water and on the docks, there was an atmosphere of teamwork, sportsmanship and passion. For those of us who make our living from the sea and for those who enjoy it, it is an inspiration: it reminds us why we do what we do.
Acknowledgements and our way of feeling the sea
We would like to thank Marina Jandía for her trust and for giving us the opportunity to experience the regatta from the inside. For us, it has been a learning experience, a source of excitement and a source of pride. We would also like to congratulate all the teams: their professionalism, effort and exemplary competitiveness make each race a little story of strategy and courage.
At Magic & Sailing, we believe in serene luxury: taking care of the pace, prioritising safety and respect for the ocean, and creating the context for people to experience the best day of their trip. Accompanying this 44CUP from the sea has been a celebration of all that: sea, craftsmanship and people in the perfect place, at the perfect time.
