You’ve hoisted the sails from Morro Jable Quay in Fuerteventura, and you’ve been sailing for a while with the breeze on your face, keeping an eye out for dolphins that pop up whenever they please. Then the catamaran comes to a halt in turquoise waters, the anchor drops, and the moment you’ll never forget arrives: a stop to quietly enjoy our fantastic waters.
The turquoise waters where we dropped anchor
Halfway through the crossing, we dropped anchor in one of the idyllic bays along the south coast, facing picture-perfect beaches and the cliffs of Jandía Natural Park. The engine fell silent and all we could hear was the water lapping against the hull.
The Lagoon 43 is spacious and stable, with bow nets where you can lie back just a few inches from the sea. But let’s be honest: nobody can stay up there for very long. The water’s too tempting.
Three plans on the water, at your own pace
You can dive headfirst into the Atlantic and float there whilst the sun dries your face. You can put on the snorkelling goggles we have on board and peer down at a volcanic rock seabed teeming with life. Or hop onto a stand-up paddleboard and paddle slowly out a little way to look at the catamaran from the water.
There’s no rush and no obligation. You can do all three, stick to just one, or lie back on deck with a nice cold drink and watch the others take the plunge. And when you get out of the water, the table’s already laid: a gourmet meal served whilst we’re at anchor, right in the middle of the sea.
Who is this excursion for?
For those who aren’t content just to look at the sea from the shore: families, couples and small groups keen to experience it for themselves. We sail on a Lagoon 43 catamaran, setting off from Morro Jable Quay (Fuerteventura), and the trip is suitable for those aged 12 and over.

Now all that’s missing is you
After a swim, the best is yet to come: sailing along the cliffs of Jandía Natural Park – the ones you can only really see from the sea. But if you’re left with just one image from the day, it’ll be that of the plunge into the turquoise water.
